Default A game for the ages...

I'd like to propose a game that we play here at work on a big white board... It's a word creation game, and strikes a little creativity in everyone...

Here's the rules:

HERE ARE THE RULES:

1) NO MAKING UP RULES TO SUIT YOURSELF!
2) You can CHANGE, ADD, or REMOVE ONE, and Only ONE Letter to make a Different Word. Rearranging letters NECESSARILY constitutes changing, adding, or dropping more than one letter, therefore REARRANGING letters is not allowed.
3) You CANNOT Repeat Words that have already been posted in the Same Game, or Round.
4) You CAN use Plurals.
5) You CANNOT use Acronyms.
6) You CANNOT use Proper Nouns, unless it is also a "regular" word.
7) You CANNOT double go... You have to wait for someone else to go in there... FOR AT LEAST A DAY OR SO (settled on 24 hours of last post)
8) Abbreviations AREN'T Words.
9) Since Rearranging Letters has to involve at least two letters moving/changing, IT'S NOT ALLOWED.
10) It would be Up To The Player That Made the Last Valid Word to see if they can do another word off of the last word.
---If they can, they "WIN"... Otherwise They Start A New Word.
---Usually Synonymous With the "Killer Word" that ended the previous game, ...but it Doesn't Have To Be.
11) Foreign Words Are NOT ALLOWED ... any combination of letters is a word somewhere in the world!
12) English is English, and thus the game is not relegated to only using "American" english.
13) English words derived from foriegn words are allowed, their foreign ancestor is not.
14) The final authority has not yet been decided. If you use a word that is not commonplace, and you are challenged, be prepared to defend your word with a cite of where one could learn more.
15) Remember, the point of the game is to learn, to expand your vocabulary, and to educate others. If you merely switch, add, or drop letters to stay in the game, you are missing a huge part of it. Of course, the game sometimes gets stuck in areas where you're blurting simple three letter words, but it's at that point that you want to "search" for a new, unique, interesting word to take the game onto a new path.
16) When a faulty word is used, and several people have built on it within the current game, and you later notice it, you can go back and challenege the word, and start with a new word at that point (built off the word prior to the faulty word). IF YOU DO THIS make sure you note what post you're going back to, what word your challenging, and why... MAKE IT CLEAR THAT YOU'RE NOT FOLLOWING THE FLOW OF WORDS, YOU'RE CHANGING THE PATH. If the person who originally posted the "faulty" word can prove it's validity, then the game will go back to the path that flowed from their word... again, MAKE THIS CLEAR WHEN YOUR CHANGING THE PATH OF THE WORDS! WHEN, HOW, WHY, WHERE, etc...

We need an authority to cite from, that is understood, but until we find one, we'll allow for any commerical cite that is available online and is accessable for free, without registration.

ready?

Let the game begin with the word: WEEK
