a couple of ideas are here: the FREEDOM to do your own thing

i just bought a 250GB HDD, so i'll be going into the Linux scene again.

Not bad for a 0.06 OS, but what happens if Intel/AMD/etc. change something in their architecture that renders something in code useless? There are lots of things that could keep this from becoming mainstream, or even as popular as Linux. I'm not going to get my hopes up on this one.

amd and intel changing structure is in the works. it is called embedded drm.
so what happens? find another life and quit computers. let orrin hatch,
of the state of utah, in ameriKa purchase all the shit coming down the tube.

It was a maxtor diamond plus 10. it wasn't that much, because they now have larger models, so my one is slowly getting out of date.
but 250 is all i need atm.

Ohhhh that would be damn perfect to install on that crappy P166...
At least I'll run something else than that annoying Win98... I hate that OS soooooooo much.

you can install more powerfull linux distros i beleive, ask our resident linuxer, applejax. maybe redhat 6, or 7?

The thing is not even what it could run.
It's is it small enough to transfer it via floppy on that PC. No network card.
